MEDICAL CONDITIONS
All medical history and additional information such as temperament, special characteristics, dietary and other requirements for your pet must be provided. Veterinary contact details along with precise information and instructions regarding administering of medication and conditions being treated.
As the owner you agree to allow your veterinarian to release history upon request.
Management reserve the right to call a veterinarian at the owner’s expense should the need arise. The owner or the contact person will be phoned in the first instance if possible.
A vet visit will only establish the best treatment for the dog if it is ill or injured to alleviate any pain or distress being suffered. Any other form of medical procedures or assistance such as blood samples, overnight stays, surgery etc. pertaining from the Vet visit will be the Owner’s right or decision to make.
Where in the case of extreme circumstances, the veterinarian deems it necessary for euthanasia of the pet K9 Kennels will act as the owner’s agent and seek a second opinion or approve euthanasia. In the unlikely event of unexpected death an autopsy will be arranged at the owner’s expense to ascertain the cause of death including the possibility of infectious or contagious disease.
It is recommended that, in the case of elderly dogs, the owner’s consent that in the event of death occurring in their absence, an autopsy is not necessary. It is also recommended that in the case of elderly dogs that may be nearing their time, owner’s need to inform K9 Kennels what arrangements are to be done with the pet in the event death occurs.
PAYMENT
Owners can pay prior to pick up on arrival; otherwise, payment is due at the time of pick up and no credit will be given. Payment can be made by Cash, Eftpos or Credit Card (2.5% surcharge for Credit via Eftpos terminal). If you wish to pay via Internet Banking, please request an invoice, this can be printed out for you in the office or e-mailed to you.
All charges are per day no part charges apply. Prices and terms can change without notice.
A deposit is required for long term boarding, public holidays and Christmas and New Year bookings (Christmas New Year deposits are non-refundable). A Christmas New Year deposit ensures confirmed accommodation at the boarding facility as it is the time of year we are fully booked.
If outside hours drop off or pick up is required it is to be prearranged at a mutually agreeable time. A charge of $20 will apply.
OTHER INFORMATION
In the interest of safety all dogs must be secured by lead or crate to and from the boarding facility to ensure they do not escape whilst in transit from the owner’s car to within the boarding facility or vice versa.
All dogs should be free from fleas before their visit to our facility. If a dog is found to have fleas, they could be sent home. Alternatively, they will be treated to a flea bath at the owner's expense. These dogs will not be permitted into any shared areas until they are completely cleared of all fleas.
All care and professional expertise will be given to your pet, we do not accept any responsibility for illness, injury or loss for any reason whatsoever apart from any breach of the guarantees in the Consumer Guarantees act 1993.
K9 Kennels will not be responsible for any damage to any personal items, bedding, toys or other items.
ABANDONMENT
The management reserves the right to take whatever action necessary in the event of any pet not be picked up as scheduled, every effort will be made to return the pet to its owner, but failing that it may be handed over to animal welfare authorities.
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
We will not accept any verbal, aggressive, or violent abuse towards staff or other customers and their dogs. Any person or persons who are abusive or aggressive may be permanently banned from K9 Kennels with no notice. We strive to provide a safe, happy environment for everyone.
VACCINATIONS
All dogs must have annual vaccinations as recommended by your veterinarian in the case of Vanguard +5 or DHPPI. The vaccination records must be bought in on the first day of entering the boarding facility. If no vaccination records are presented, we will be unable to take your dog.
Your dog needs current and up to date vaccinations for Kennel Cough, Parvo and Lepto. This protects not only your dog, but also the dogs we are boarding. Please do not be offended if we refuse boarding for your dog for not being fully vaccinated. It is our policy to keep all pets in our care SAFE! Your pet is not fully vaccinated until all boosters have been given.
All vaccinations must be completed at least ONE WEEK PRIOR to your pets stay.
Kennel Cough Vaccinations Nasal must be given at least 72 hours prior to boarding.
Injectable must be given at least 2 weeks prior to boarding. If this is the first shot you will need a booster 4 weeks later, then yearly boosters.
Lepto Vaccinations
Lepto requires two shots 4 weeks apart if they have not been done before, then yearly boosters.
